I'm Lisimba, your course instructor. I help engineers become senior engineers, and I'd love to help you, too. Here's my story.
I've spent the past 15+ years building my career in the tech industry. I've grown from a hands-on developer to an engineering manager, building and leading engineering teams globally.
Along this journey, I've built enterprise systems processing terabytes of data and serving millions of users across various industries. From scalable web applications to cross-platform mobile apps, from REST APIs to data pipelines, I've tackled the kind of technical challenges that senior engineers face daily. I've worked across modern tech stacks, including Ruby, Python, React, and AWS, using best practices like customer-driven development and Agile methodologies.
But what I'm most proud of isn't the systems I've built – it's the engineers I've helped grow. I've had the pleasure of mentoring engineers to senior roles, including one who won a Women in Tech award. Through years of making promotion decisions and implementing engineering career frameworks, I've learned what it takes to be a senior engineer.
